About Espresso Martini

Espresso Martini is the perfect meeting point between cocktail and coffee. It’s smooth, energizing, and elegant—often served as an after-dinner drink or when you need a little boost to kick off the night. Despite the name, it contains no martini, but is named after the glass it’s typically served in.

So how do you make an Espresso Martini?

Start by brewing a fresh double espresso. Add it to a shaker along with 2.5 cl vodka, 2.5 cl coffee liqueur, and 0.5 cl simple syrup if you like it a little sweeter. Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with three coffee beans for a classic look.

The drink is said to have been created in the 1980s when a guest in London asked bartender Dick Bradsell for something to “wake me up and then f*** me up.” The result? The Espresso Martini—a cocktail that’s now a staple on bar menus around the world.

With its velvety texture, bold coffee flavor, and rich crema on top, this is a modern classic that’s earned its spot in the spotlight.
